Nick Kewin is a filmmaker with a proven ability to breathe life into long and short-form narrative work. He is currently a writer-in-residence at the Canadian Film Centre’s Cineplex Film Program Writer’s Lab.
As a screenwriter, he has written three feature-length screenplays to date. His narrative output has predominantly focused on gritty settings, family dynamics and a smattering of the surreal. His short film credits as a writer include Burn the Tapes, Welcome Stranger, and Cosmo, all of which have garnered online interest and festival inclusion. His works have played at a diverse array of outlets, such as the Canadian Film Fest, Toronto International Short Film Festival and the National Screen Institute online film festival.
As a creative, he has proven an ability to craft engaging and effective client-focused branded content.
As a podcast producer, his work can be heard on Version Control: Pound & Grain’s Digital News Podcast. Nick also produces and hosts the internet radio show, Raccoon, No Stripes, a musical odyssey which specializes in presenting a no-holds-barred radio experience in every episode.
Nick is also a musician, writing and recording under the moniker, Old Nick, which has yielded five albums to date.
Nick hails from Brantford, Ontario, but is proud to call Toronto home.
